If you’ve ever felt that sinking feeling when an IRS letter lands in your mailbox, you’re in the right place. Welcome to my corner of the internet where I’ll share stories, strategies, and straight talk about dealing with the IRS – whether you’re behind on years of unfiled returns, facing overdue taxes or simply looking for ways to stop overpaying in the future.
My name is Tracy Janssen, and yes, I really do love helping people with their taxes. (I know, not a sentence you hear every day!) I’m an Enrolled Agent (EA), which means I’m licensed to represent taxpayers before the IRS, and a Certified Tax Coach trained in advanced strategies that help clients legally minimize what they owe.
Outside of taxes, I cherish time with my family, traveling to favorite spaces and exploring new places, and binge watching TV whilst tending to my chores.
Why I Do What I Do: Supporting Through Struggle
Most people don’t fall behind on taxes because they’re careless. Life happens – a job loss, a divorce, a death in the family or pulling money out of retirement without enough tax withheld. One tough year snowballs into several unfiled returns, and suddenly the problem feels impossible.
Sometimes those struggles come alongside deeper challenges – like addiction, gambling or health battles – among so many other things. But while life inevitably moves forward, the IRS never goes away.
That’s where I come in. My firm provides a judgment-free space and a steady hand to help you take that first step toward resolution.
I started this blog because I know how confusing and intimidating the IRS can feel, but I also know it doesn’t have to be that way.
Helping Business Owners & Individuals
For entrepreneurs, the story often looks different:
- Falling behind on payroll taxes because cash flow was tight.
- Writing painful quarterly checks and wondering if an S Corp, LLC, or family-hiring strategy could help.
Tax planning can change everything. One of my favorite examples is a doctor I worked with. Through a proactive tax plan, they not only owed nothing in the current year, but even received refunds for prior years.
Watching taxpayers save tax dollars and parlay those savings into achieving business goals – or maybe even personal goals – on a shorter timeline fuels me to help more people.
From Fear to Relief
What lights me up most is seeing the transformation in my clients. When someone walks in my office shaking with fear, but leaves it smiling with hope – that’s why I do what I do. Tackling tax troubles is a journey, and it takes time, and I’ll be with you every step of the way.Â
These problems can weigh on you daily, creeping into your thoughts at the worst times. Once we submit things to the IRS, it often becomes a waiting game, but I’ve done this long enough to give you a realistic idea of timelines and outcomes. And because I’m licensed to represent you, I can call the IRS directly when needed. That means you don’t have to spend hours on hold! We’ll brave the phone.
